There Are People And Then There Are People

Vlad Savov: "People are starting to identify more with CyanogenMod or MIUI than with HTC or Samsung."

Which people are doing this? I feel like the writes-about-gadgets community and the uses-mobile-phones-regularly communities are two fairly different sets of people, and the difference shows up at times like this. My guess is that most people using Android phones don't much identify with anything. They've got the phone that was recommended to them by the guy at the store.
