One year of data can be a blip, but for Internet purposes two years is good enough to be a trend so I’m willing ot say that with a 24 percent decline in the number of people taking the LSAT over the past two years that Peak Law School Applications arrived in 2010. And not a year too soon! It’s been clear for some time now that the campaign to produce more and more lawyers was becoming economically destructive. The very high earnings of the people at the top of the legal profession had no relationship to the realistic career prospects of the marginal new lawyer, even biglaw turned out to be quite vulnerable to the business cycle, and technology is really threatening the lower end of the legal profession with disruption.
