Domino's Pizza pioneered the "we admit we used to suck" advertising pitch a couple of years back, and now Microsoft's getting in on the game, trying to make Internet Explorer 9 cool again with its Browswer You Love To Hate.com website:
It's interesting that Microsoft feels compelled to address this market segment at all. Their bread and butter is enterprise, and basically selling direct to the IT department. But they can feel that the entire industry is consumerizing and they're going to need to make users and not just large-scale enterprise purchasers feel good about their products.
