Brazil’s GDP grew 7.5 percent in 2010 which made a slowdown all but inevitable, but dropping to a 2.7 percent growth rate is staggering. One principle issue is that the value of the currency has appreciated enormously, rendering Brazilian manufacturing an uncompetitive drag on overall output.
