Obama Wants Much Higher Taxes on the Rich; Romney Wants Slightly Higher Taxes on the Poor

Ezra Klein brings us the quick summary chart of the difference between the Obama and Romney tax proposals. Under Romney’s vision, high-income people will pay much lower rates than under Obama’s, but low-income people will pay slightly more. The overall quantity of tax revenue under Romney is also substantially lower, which, combined with his commitment to higher defense spending, implies subsantially lower spending on Medicaid and other public services.
