Two Cheers For Supercommittee Failure

My first column for Slate makes the point that Supercommittee “failure” will likely make the deficit smaller than “success” would have. If there’s bad news here, it’s for the unemployed who lost an outside shot at UI extension or some other form of stimulus. But the people regretting failure are most likely fetishizing bipartisanship rather than the deficit.
