Would a laptop without WiFi even be useful? The ‘90s thought so! WiFi is so pervasive and important now that it’s hard to remember that portable computers ever existed without it. But behold: In this clip from a 1999 Apple event, Steve Jobs demonstrates the iBook’s wireless capabilities by picking it up and moving it while browsing, and audience laughs, gasps, and cheers. Watch on as Jobs employs another amazing technology, the hula hoop, to assure the audience that it’s no magic trick.
