Ram Bothered by Drone Expresses Dislike With Violent Headbutts

Animals have a rocky relationship with technology. There are adorable encounters like a marmot licking a GoPro, and scary ones like a great white shark attacking an autonomous underwater vehicle. And drones in particular can be a little bit too much of an imposition on animals. So some, like this ram, are taking matters into their own, um, horns.

YouTube user Buddhanz1, who has created viral hits in the past by filming angry rams, was flying his FPV quadcopter near a ram. Annoyed, the animal decided to stop the drone in its tracks with a swift headbutt. And when Buddhanz1 went to recover his drone, the ram gave him what-for. “I had my hands full so he got me pretty good,” Buddhanz1 writes. In an address to “the trolling haters on this vid,” he also says that he is the owner of the ram, having rescued it from a previous owner. No wonder this ram has anger issues.

The drone probably didn’t do any serious damage to the ram—if anything it’s the opposite—but the video sends a pretty clear message about what can happen when animals encounter drones. Using quadcopters to observe animals from afar is one thing, but there’s no need to pester them.
