Washington’s Metro Accidentally Takes Riders on a Tour of the World

Perry Stein of the Washington City Paper caught a fun glitch on the Washington, D.C. Metro’s website today: For several hours, riders who planned their trip using the Google Street View function of Metro’s interactive map found themselves on a tour of the planet, terrestrial and aquatic.

Metro isn’t sure why the visual safari occurred, and—sadly—has already fixed it. But for a few magical hours, riders inured to the dreary grind of commute-planning were treated to a delightful excursion far, far away from their swampy, sweltering metropolis.
