Actor Aaron Paul was one of the stars of Breaking Bad. He’s also in your living room right now, turning your Xbox on. Maybe.
Last week Microsoft released the ad above to show off Kinect voice commands for Xbox One. You can say things like “Xbox on,” and your Xbox will turn on. And as a (presumably accidental) proof of concept, when Paul says “Xbox on” in the commercial, people’s Xboxes have been turning on.
On Reddit reactions range from impressed to annoyed. User yellowld21 says, “The marketing team is finally showing off what the damn product does for a change.” But hardangelfan says, “Damn commercial keeps turning on my xbox! Lol.”
And on Twitter the frustration is more palpable:
