It sucks when your phone dies. That’s why we’re all battery whisperers. We try to commune with our power supplies and use little tricks to eek out some extra tweets and email responses whenever we can.
Now a small feature in Apple’s upcoming iOS 8 release will help us fight the good fight.
A new menu option in Settings called Battery Usage lets you see what percentage of your battery power is used by each app you run. It’s an option that’s already been in Android for a while, so iOS users should be relieved that it’s finally showing up. If your battery is getting old and finicky, battery usage should help you figure out which apps to avoid or delete altogether if you can. It’s a little tweak, but a big quality of life improvement.
