In his new book Makers: The New Industrial Revolution, Wired Editor-in-Chief Chris Anderson says that 3-D printing, open source design, and other new tools are creating a culture of creativity and entrepreneurship. He writes: “[T]he digital revolution has now reached the workshop, the lair of Real Stuff, and there it may have its greatest impact yet. Not just the workshops themselves (although they’re getting pretty cool these days), but more what can be done in the physical world by regular people with extraordinary tools.”
Fascinating, right? You can hear more about it in person. On Thursday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m., Anderson will discuss Makers and DIY culture with Slate Editor David Plotz in Washington, D.C.—and some seats are reserved for Slate readers.
