In the upcoming mockumentary Ghosts With Shit Jobs, the post-economic-collapse North Americans of 2038 work menial jobs outsourced by the wealthy East. These new careers include blurring out advertisements for filming and illegally refurbishing robotic babies. (Funny that those robotic babies that are presumably meant for purchase by the East all seem to be white.) While this is mostly a look at the fallout of poor economic policy on the part of the U.S. and Canada (the film takes place in the “slums of Toronto”), it’s also interesting to see one conception of the menial jobs of tomorrow, where even slum-dwellers have basic robotics skills.
The “low-fi sci-fi no-budget feature” will be released online in October.
