At 5 a.m. I woke up without even trying. I was hungry — I definitely didn't eat enough yesterday — but I also feel pretty great. I'm wide awake, energetic instead of my usual lethargic and cranky, and not as headachy without all that coffee (even though it's decaf).
Of course it's too early to make anything of this. This is what Day 1 of every diet feels like — I usually feel lighter — then the hunger sets in. Must eat more today.
Since I was up so early, I got to make breakfast:
Hot McCann's steel-cut oatmeal with raisins and milk, blueberries, and green tea. Life is good.
It's great to be up this early. I usually feel like I don't have enough time. Not this morning.
