The trailer for the fourth season of Broad City is out, and it looks like show creators and stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer are giving loyal fans more of what they love: sunny Florida locations and Steve Buscemi! Slightly more on-brand: raunchy gags involving marijuana, nudity, abortion protesters, and a bright blue strap-on, plus a Yellow Submarine–style animated drug trip.
Of course, the big question for a show that famously gave Hillary Clinton a cameo when her presidency seemed inevitable—as it seems to be for any television show, movie, song, painting, or long-standing military alliance these days—is “What about Trump?” On the evidence of the trailer, Broad City’s answer seems to be, “Fuck you, Trump!” (The evidence in question: Ilana Glazer saying, “Fuck you, Trump!”) But Broad City won’t be abandoning its roots to take on the president: Glazer’s line comes as she’s contemplating going another round with a vibrator. That seems about right.
