Netflix Has Released a Stranger Things Newscast, and It’s About (Who Else?) Barb

Just in time for Halloween, Netflix has released an “archival newsreel” from their spookiest show. “Minute by Minute with Brenda Wood” has all the top stories from Stranger ThingsHawkins, Indiana, including an otherworldly waffle heist and, most importantly, the disappearance of one Barbara Holland, known to her friends, and fans, as Barb. Wood describes poor Barb as “the kind of girl who notices if you’re wearing a new bra” and who “can really rock a pair of mom jeans—or as we call them now, jeans.” She urges viewers to contact the authorities with any information.

Of course, if you’ve watched Stranger Things, you already know Barb’s fate, and you also know that, no matter how much we may want her to, she’s not coming back. Stranger Things co-creator Matt Duffer says so. David Harbour, who plays Sheriff Hopper, says so. It’s time we all accept that. But the attention that Netflix is still paying to Barb suggests it might not bee too late for justice?
