Kate McKinnon’s Ghostbusters Outtakes Are Just As Weird As You Might Expect

Critics may not have been entirely enamored with this year’s Ghostbusters remake, but there’s one thing they can all agree on: that Kate McKinnon’s performance, as the goggle-wearing bizarro genius Jillian Holtzmann, was the clear standout of the movie. An outtake reel of McKinnon improvising in character proves that her great performance was no fluke—in fact, any of the unused clips in the supercut could have made it into the movie.

It’s hard to choose a favorite line from among such gifts as, “Last month, I ordered 800 pounds of Tungsten. I don’t know where it went,” and “He’s like a red Solo cup. You use him once, you have a great time, toss him in the garbage.” Unlike other outtake reels you may be familiar with, this one doesn’t include a single second of McKinnon breaking character—just nearly 10 minutes of acting like a true professional (and a total weirdo). And that’s what we love about her.
