Stephen Colbert Embraces Candy Puns to Pummel Trump Jr.’s Anti-Refugee Skittles Graphic

There are a lot of things wrong with that anti-refugee, Donald Trump Jr.–tweeted Skittles graphic: It’s wildly misleading, completely irrelevant, and is stolen from a photo taken by an actual refugee. And like most nonsensical arguments made by the Trump campaign, it provides pretty good fodder for late-night comedians, as evidenced by Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night’s Late Show.

The graphic “really makes me consider my stance on eating Syrian refugees,” Colbert quipped, before offering some candy-based substitutions of his own. Smarties, Reeses, Snickers—no brand of sweet was off the table. And to finish Trump Jr. off, Colbert skirted the language restrictions of broadcast television by replacing a salty word with a sweet one: “So go back to Fifth Avenue, and fudge yourself.”
