Finally, Jean-Ralphio of Parks and Rec Is Reunited With His Real Father, Steve From Stranger Things

The fan theory that rocked the Upside Down is one step closer to becoming canon: On Tuesday, Stranger ThingsSteve Harrington and Parks and Recreation’s Jean-Ralphio Saperstein enjoyed a touching “father-son” moment, captured on video for the world to see. Fans of Stranger Things have long noted the resemblance between Joe Keery, who plays Steve on the hit Netflix show, and Ben Schwartz’s character on Parks and Rec, sparking the theory that Jean-Ralphio must be the secret love child of Steve and girlfriend Nancy.

The timing checks out (sort of) since Stranger Things is set in the ‘80s, but if you needed any more proof, check out this photo of the two actors in matching flannel:

Schwartz first (coyly) confirmed the connection during an episode of Stranger-er Things on the Late Show. Baby Jean-Ralphio, he explains, was born already singing and with a full head of hair and must have spent most of his youth in the Upside Down before being adopted by Dr. Saperstein in Pawnee, Indiana.

The reunited pair even made up for lost time, with Steve apparently teaching his “son” (who is about a decade older than him) how to shave.
