Watch Kate McKinnon Get Emotional After Winning Her First, Very Deserved Emmy

SNL’s Kate McKinnon gave a deeply emotional victory speech for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, after pulling her written remarks out in glorious fashion—just watch the clip above. McKinnon appeared visibly moved, thanking her SNL boss Lorne Michaels and dedicating her trophy to her late father, who first introduced her to the NBC sketch staple at age 12.

McKinnon wins on her third consecutive nomination for Saturday Night Live, likely lifted by her work as Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton (and, of course, Jillian Holtzman). For someone so skilled at cracking her co-stars up, there was something especially beautiful about watching the expert McKinnon tear-up a little herself.
