This Clip of Woody Harrelson as LBJ Sure Is Something (Also, NSFW)

Woody Harrelson is the latest actor to play Lyndon Baines Johnson—following in the footsteps of such luminaries as Bryan Cranston, Tom Wilkinson, Liev Schreiber, and Randy Quaid—in Rob Reiner’s new biopic LBJ, which chronicles the president’s journey from reluctant second-in-command to leader of the free world. Harrelson’s performance is already getting positive reviews out of TIFF, and now we have our first look at him in action, in a clip that shows off Johnson’s famously, uh, colorful personality. Johnson rattles off a story that simultaneously communicates a valuable life lesson and manages to use the word “titties” more than once.

As far as LBJ impressions go, Texas-born Harrelson’s southern drawl sure is convincing, even if his prosthetic jowls aren’t, and he certainly seems to embody Johnson’s blissful unselfconsciousness as he rattles off his dirty anecdote.

The film also stars Richard Jenkins as Senator Richard Russell, Bill Pullman as Senator Ralph Yarborough, and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Johnson’s wife, Claudia (better known as “Lady Bird”).
