Taran Killam Bids SNL Farewell With a Parody of HBO Doc Series Hard Knocks

Taran Killam is leaving Saturday Night Live after six seasons without much of a send-off, but he’s left us one last gag to appreciate before he departs for his new gig at Showtime: a parody of HBO’s Hard Knocks. The short video, which Killam posted on Twitter, oh so seriously documents his final hours at Studio 8H and is even voiced by Hard Knocks’ regular narrator, Liev Schreiber.

“You know, when you first get the job, it’s a dream come true,” Killam says in a talking head, after packing up photos and tchotchkes from the dressing room he’s used for the past five years. “But year after year, the ideas don’t come so fast, the wigs start fitting a little looser, and you find yourself thinking, ‘I can’t possibly come up with another silly voice.’ ” So what comes next for the actor? That’s anyone’s guess—but he does really, really want you to go see his new movie, out Friday.
