Full Frontal Interviewed Some of the Bernie Bro–iest Bernie Bros You’ve Ever Seen

Bernie Sanders may have graciously embraced Hillary Clinton at the Democratic National Convention, but  all of his supporters have clearly not done the same. On Monday night, Samantha Bee examined the ideology of Bernie-or-Busters who have held out even after Sanders endorsed his onetime rival for the nomination. Bee was less than impressed with Bernie Bro–ian DNC protest tactics, which included interrupting Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights hero, as he was giving an interview with MSNBC: “Guys, if you’re going to protest your perceived disenfranchisement, maybe don’t do it by heckling the guy who wrote the book on actual disenfranchisement.”

Full Frontal sent Allana Harkin to pick the brains of Bernie Bro holdouts and to ask why they won’t follow their preferred candidate’s example—and why they would ever consider voting for Donald Trump, who couldn’t be more different from Sanders. “What about all the Muslims and Latinos that are going to be shipped out of the country?” she asked one Sanders supporter about a potential Trump presidency. “Do you feel extra comforted because you’re white, and you don’t have to deal with that problem?” His reply? “To tell you the truth, I’m in the bubble, yes.” Yikes. At least he was honest.

Their silent walkout was a little more pleasant, though, according to Harkin. “This is the first time everybody’s been quiet. It’s like going to the spa.”
