Sam Bee Breaks Down the Extravagant Disaster That Is the Republican National Convention

The unfortunate rollout of Mike Pence as Donald Trump’s running mate—from that disastrous logo to Trump’s exceedingly self-involved introduction—made for killer comedic fodder over the weekend, and Samantha Bee wasn’t about to let it go to waste. In a new episode of Full Frontal on Monday, the late-night host opened the show by tearing into Trump’s clunky handling of the choice between Newt Gingrich and Pence—or as Bee put it, “between the Republican Littlefinger and Roger Sterling during an allergy attack”—before, in typically razor-sharp fashion, annihilating Pence’s record as Indiana governor.

Bee delivered a series of crushing blows in just a few minutes, mercilessly detailing Pence’s stances (and policies) against reproductive rights and LGBTQ rights. Coupled with some blistering words on the ongoing “41st and possibly the last Republican National Convention,” the recap made for a delectably nasty nightcap. At least Bee finished the segment on a (relatively) positive note: “Congratulations, Indiana: You just got rid of one of the worst governors you’ve ever had!”

Stay tuned for more from Samantha Bee, who will be in Cleveland on Wednesday for a special episode of Full Frontal.
