Watch Stephen Colbert Steal the Mic at the Republican National Convention, Promptly Get Ejected

Late-night hosts from Trevor Noah to Bill Maher to Stephen Colbert are in Cleveland this week to make some mischief at the Republican National Convention, with Colbert even going so far as to raise Jon Stewart from the dead. And amid this weekend’s preparations for the pending political catastrophe, one audience member caught a glimpse of what to expect in the days to come.

Reprising his spin on The Hunger Games’ flamboyant Caesar Flickerman, Colbert crashed the RNC stage and snagged the microphone on Sunday evening to provide an impassioned welcome to the “2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games.” In the captured video, it’s unclear whether the bit is spontaneous, planned, or in rehearsal, as he’s aggressively escorted offstage by security. But regardless, Colbert’s ejection did give him an opportunity to sneak in one more good one-liner: “Look, I know I’m not supposed to be up here, but let’s be honest: Neither is Donald Trump.”
