As most Pokémon Go users continue to wander around church parking lots and apartment hallways—as well as more dangerous areas near cliffs and in dark alleys—others are beginning to implement innovative new methods of gameplay. Indeed, the game found its way into a most unexpected place over the weekend: the mixed martial arts arena. Near the bloody conclusion of a fight in London, hometown winner Michael Page put an exclamation point on his victory by snagging a pokéball and tossing it in an attempt to “catch” his vanquished opponent.
With this cheeky performance, Page adds an entirely new dimension to the current Pokémon craze—not to mention the art of MMA gloating.
