If you were ever hoping to incorporate the The Golden Girls into your funeral for some odd reason, we have wonderful news for you: St. Vincent has you covered. The indie rock musician recently posted a cover of the 1980s sitcom’s theme song, “Thank You for Being a Friend,” on Twitter—except that St. Vincent’s version turns it into a funeral dirge. Seriously.

Stripped of its lyrics and reimagined as a synth instrumental, the cover is actually pretty soothing to listen to, even if its source material is hard to pick out. Still, the mournful reimagining would certainly have put a damper on the Golden Girls opening credits.
