Sometimes, when a music legend is invited to a wedding, all he or she wants is to kick back, glug some champagne, and listen as a band valiantly attempts to cover one of his hit songs. Unfortunately, that didn’t quite happen for Jon Bon Jovi, who for an agonizing full minute was forced to sit through exhortations to join in on singer Lourdes Valentin’s performance of “Livin’ on a Prayer” at a ceremony in Miami—until he finally did.
Despite a reported insistence before the party that he would not participate, Bon Jovi finally snagged the microphone and hit the stage, handling the whole thing with impressive graciousness despite his thinly veiled annoyance. Apparently, keeping a camera in an uncomfortable person’s face for long enough can convince them to do as you please. That, or Bon Jovi realized he was in need of a little relief from “Turn Back Time” after all of those DirecTV commercials.
