Jon Hamm Is Finally Starring in a Comedy, and Here Is the Trailer

In the new trailer for Keeping Up With the Joneses, Isla Fisher and Zach Galifianakis play an ordinary couple whose suburban life is turned upside down when Wonder Woman and Don Draper—sorry, Gal Gadot and Jon Hamm—move into the house across the street. The wealthy, beautiful Joneses seem perfect, but (of course) they’re hiding a secret: They’re actually undercover spies. Fisher and Galifianakis naturally get caught up in all kinds of covert operations, while reminding us that they’re just ordinary parents: “Just split the cookies,” yells Galifianakis mid–car chase, resolving a kids’ dispute over the phone.

There’s a inevitable Mr. and Mrs. Smith vibe to this Gadot-Hamm team—they’re sexy, husband-and-wife spies camouflaged as ordinary suburbanites with a nondescript last name, after all. But it’s nice to see Jon Hamm finally starring in a comedy; though he’s had great supporting roles in the likes of 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, this is a prime opportunity to flex his comedy chops in a feature film.

Keeping Up With the Joneses hits theaters Oct. 21.*
