Watch the First Trailer for Andrea Arnold’s Cannes Jury Prize Winner American Honey

The first trailer was released Tuesday for American Honey, the new feature from Fish Tank writer/director Andrea Arnold. The film, starring Shia LaBeouf, Riley Keough, and newcomer Sasha Lane, won the Jury Prize at Cannes this year; it also comes from auteur distributor A24, so it couldn’t have a better pedigree.

It’s set in the dismal world of magazine crews, young people crisscrossing the country selling magazine subscriptions under conditions that range from “coal miner in debt to the company store” to “kidnapping victim.” The trailer looks wonderful, but will millennials will find anything to relate to in a movie about financially exploited young people with no future but whatever they can steal?
