Samantha Bee set herself apart from other late-night hosts on Full Frontal Monday night when she delivered an unapologetically furious rant about the Orlando massacre, tearing into politicians whose responses to mass shootings are characterized by “prayers” and moments of silence, rather than legislative action that could prevent future tragedies. It’s no surprise then that when Chris Murphy launched last night’s sudden gun-control filibuster, Bee was among those watching—and tweeting.
The arguable highlight was when Bee offered to send 37 pizzas to the Senate floor—one for each senator who joined Murphy’s effort. The Senate Democrats’ Twitter account even responded that they wouldn’t mind some Red Bull to go with the meal. Sadly, Bee’s delivery order was nixed, but since the senators managed to last until 2:11 a.m., it seems like they didn’t need it.
