Taylor Swift seems to have started a new career as a wedding crasher, dropping by the Brant Beach Yacht Club over the weekend to surprise Max Singer and Kenya Smith. People broke the news Saturday when pictures of Swift with the newlyweds started showing up on social media, including Swift’s Instagram feed:

The groom’s sister Ali was responsible for Swift’s appearance. After the death of their mother, Ali wrote Swift a letter describing how Max was legally married at a hospital so their mother could attend. Max, a loyal fan of Swift, had his official mother-son dance to Swift’s “Blank Space.” Swift was touched and showed up to perform the song live at Saturday’s wedding, with just a keyboard and microphone:

Swift brought the newlyweds a gift she made herself, a hand-painted floral circle with a lyric from “Blank Space.”

Saturday’s wedding will go down in history as the only time the groom’s little sister monopolizes the planning while a guest ignored the registry and nobody minded.
