Watch Amy Schumer Try to Be Relatable but Only Manage to Murder a Blimp Pilot

We’re a few days late on this, but given Slates long-time commitment to zeppelin coverage, we thought it was important to share this sketch from Thursday’s Inside Amy Schumer, in which Schumer hosts a talk show called Down to Earth from a “luxury airship that never touches the ground for tax reasons.” It’s a hilarious look at the superrich, starting with the show’s theme song, as performed by house band Selena (Gomez) and the Schume-Tones:

She has a chef for her dog,
She bought a convent in Prague,
She owns three precogs,
This girl is just like you!

There are segments on all kinds of relatable problems, from thieving maids to public intolerance for genetically engineered mini-dinosaurs (“min-dins”), all tied in to Schumer’s lifestyle site Engorge.biz. But things go off the rails when Schumer invites the airship pilot downstairs for the “Meet a Poor Person” segment. Fortunately, she’s got an assistant/human parachute/sister at the ready, but the pilot isn’t as lucky. On the other hand, he describes his job as “steering the zeppelin,” when they’re clearly in a blimp, so it’s probably just as well. Amy Schumer has problems finding reliable airship pilots—just like us!
