Pierce Brosnan Is the World’s Worst Drug Dealer in the Trailer for Urge

Grover Norquist may be right when he says that “an army of ten million Vapers” will be the deciding demographic in the 2016 election, but as the trailer for Urge shows, it’s not necessarily wise to buy drugs from them. Pierce Brosnan looks to be having the time of his life as a nightclub owner/drug dealer/vaper/probable-Satan in the trailer for this film, directed by Aaron Kaufman. His customers, including Danny Masterson, Alexis Knapp, Ashley Greene, and Justin Chatwin, are maybe not having quite as much fun. At issue is a drug called “urge,” which removes all inhibitions but, as Chatwin warns, can only be taken once.

From Genesis to Gremlins, any clearly stated rule in a story is only there for characters to break it, so naturally, that’s what happens. Urge seems to inspire a pretty straight downward spiral from eating too much cake to S&M to murder, like marijuana back in the day. But the real appeal here will clearly not be the carefully photographed debauchery, but Brosnan’s off-the-wall performance. If his Milton-mangling sleazeball turns out to be the actual devil (and has enough screen time), Urge could be terrible enough to be a lot of fun. But to be on the safe side, stock up on whatever substance will get you through the 89-minute runtime well before its June 3 release to theaters and video on demand.
