Watch Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic Join Paul McCartney to Play “Helter Skelter”

Paul McCartney’s One on One tour is certainly turning out to be a memorable one. When it kicked off last week, Macca delighted fans by opening the tour with his first performance of the Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night”  in more than 50 years. And during Sunday’s show in Seattle, he brought onstage a special guest from a another legendary group, Krist Novoselic from Nirvana.

The fellow bassists rocked out to “Helter Skelter,” the classic White Album track that is widely considered to be one of the first heavy metal songs—a fitting choice, considering that, decades later, Novoselic and Nirvana would themselves help popularize a harder, heavier, grungier sound. McCartney, of course, wailed the lead vocals, proving yet again that he hasn’t lost his edge.
