If there’s one vacation rule it’s foolhardy to ignore, it’s this: Don’t do favors for Russian mafia money launderers. Nevertheless, Naomie Harris and Ewan McGregor throw caution to the wind in the trailer for Our Kind of Traitor. It’s hard to blame them, though: Stellan Skarsgard plays the Russian mobster in question, and he’s never looked more trustworthy. Meanwhile Damian Lewis is an MI6 agent who is very concerned with Harris and McGregor’s bad decisions. Pretty impeccable spy thriller casting: Harris from the James Bond movies, Lewis from Homeland, McGregor from Haywire, and of course, Skarsgard from Good Will Hunting.
Susanna White is directing the film from Hossein Amini’s adaptation of the John le Carré novel, and frankly, it can’t arrive soon enough. (It arrives July 1.)
