For those who watched and loved Tina Fey, Tituss Burgess, and Jane Krakowski’s lip-synced rendition of “Flawless” last summer, this week offers an even sweeter treat. On Monday, Fey and Burgess popped over to the annual MCC Theater Miscast Gala and sang “You’re Nothing Without Me” from the 1989 Tony-winning musical City of Angels. Their rendition is as charming as it is hammy—the perfect fan service for those of us eagerly awaiting the return of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Burgess is clearly the more seasoned musical theater performer here—as anyone who’s listened to “Peeno Noir” or watched any of his performances on Broadway could have guessed—but both he and Fey deliver shine, and their charisma together is undeniable. Here’s hoping the second season puts Tituss’ amazing pipes to good use again, perhaps this time with Fey by his side as a guest star for another adorable duet.
