The Honest Trailer for The Force Awakens Can’t Deny That This Movie Sure Looks a Lot Like the First Star Wars

It was only a matter of time before Screen Junkies put out an Honest Trailer for The Force Awakens, and now that day has come. The verdict is that the newest addition to the franchise is “a film so desperate to recapture the magic of the first Star Wars, it practically is the first Star Wars.” This evaluation, of course, gets balanced out by the sheer glee the movie brought most fans by its very existence—and also some effusive praise for Oscar Isaac’s dreamy turn as Poe Dameron.

The trailer also asks some very important questions, like who Rey’s parents are and why R2-D2 suddenly wakes up toward the movie’s end. But then again, “Why would we expect the guy who made Lost to have good answers for any of these questions?”
