The Gilmore Girls Revival Will End With Amy Sherman-Palladino’s Famous Four Secret Words. Let the Guessing Begin!

Gilmore Girls
What if they’re just “Sorry for Season 7”?

The WB

As any self-respecting Gilmore Girls fanatic knows, the show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, had long planned to end the show with four words. But she wasn’t involved in making the series’ disappointing final season, and ever since she’s kept those four words a secret. Luckily, Netflix has given the show a do-over to stick the landing—and, according to Yanic Truesdale (aka Michel), it will, indeed, be closing on those four secret words.

Palladino had previously said she was afraid all the build-up could make the final words underwhelming, although it seems doubtful fans will feel the same way. But what could these hallowed, top-secret words be?

Perhaps these words will look back on how far the show has come, with the clarity of 20/20 hindsight (e.g., You should’ve married Max”). Or, these words could summarize what we’ve all been thinking for several seasons (“No man is worthy”). Or maybe they’ll be a somewhat cheesy play on the title, a la “We’re Gilmore women now.” Or, the show could stay true to form and end on yet another pop culture reference. Perhaps “Hasta la vista, baby.”
