Slippin’ Jimmy McGill will keep scamming his way across television screens for at least another season, Variety reports. AMC announced Tuesday that their critically acclaimed Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul has been renewed for 10 more episodes. That’s great news: The series, as Slate’s Willa Paskin writes, is the rare spinoff that succeeds on its own terms. The show, centered by Bob Odenkirk’s brilliant performance as Jimmy McGill—who will transform into shyster lawyer Saul Goodman by the time of Breaking Bad—will continue to be run by Peter Gould and Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. A new season of Better Call Saul isn’t just a welcome develpment for audiences, though: AMC executives must also be breathing a sigh of relief to avoid, for now, the inevitable “Chicago Sunroof” fan campaign when the show is finally canceled.
