Check Out President Obama and Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda Freestyling in the Rose Garden

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda was at the White House Monday for a performance of songs from his impossible-to-see musical, but he also found time to show off his freestyle rap skills in the Rose Garden. As one does. The White House just released this video of Miranda at work, with a Marine Band drummer handling the beat and President Obama himself throwing down cue cards like Bob Dylan. It wasn’t Miranda’s first time—he’s worked for years with comedy hip-hop troupe Freestyle Love Supreme, and Jimmy Fallon got him to freestyle on The Tonight Show—but this will be the one he’s remembered for. “You think that’s going viral?” Obama asked when the pair finished. “That’s going viral.”
