Last fall, Antonio Maria da Silva created a ridiculously well-crafted 10-minute mashup of iconic movie characters, all set inside one elaborate night club where violence and chaos unfurled. In “Hell’s Club Part Two: Another Night,” he kicks it up several notches—same nightclub, some familiar faces from the first night (namely the Terminator and Scarface), plus many, many … many more.
Three different James Bonds (Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan, and, of course, Sean Connery) make a cameo, and you’ll also spot Howard the Duck, Austin Powers, Daft Punk, Sandy and Danny from Grease, James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause, Groot, Jack and Rose from Titanic. The list goes on and on and on, to the point where it’s nearly impossible to keep up as characters are spliced and layered in throughout. About midway through, aliens crash the party and all hell breaks loose. At 17 minutes, it’s a bit long, and some of the cameos feel more like overstuffed decoration rather than integral pieces of the storytelling (unlike in the first video), but da Silva’s seamless editing and excellent choice in dance music—including Earth, Wind, and Fire—make it impossible to look away.
