Watch Leonardo DiCaprio Finally Accept His Oscar

As everyone in your Oscar pool predicted, Leonardo DiCaprio finally took home the Academy Award for Best Actor this year for his turn as Hugh Glass in The Revenant. While accepting his award, DiCaprio shouted out his co-star Tom Hardy, The Revenant director Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Martin Scorsese. He also stressed his movie’s themes of the power of the natural world and closed his speech with an appeal for action on climate change.

Whether or not you agree that this was the movie DiCaprio should have won for, the award has been a long time coming. It speaks volumes that DiCaprio’s struggle for an Oscar has become a resonant, meme-able saga all its own. So, as we congratulate Leo, we must also commemorate the loss this means for us all—the end of one of the Internet’s greatest memes.
