On Monday’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert asked the Big Questions with the recurring bit’s biggest star yet: Kermit the Frog. Kermit proved to be a perfect guest for the Big Questions segment, gamely entertaining Colbert’s existential dilemmas as he folded his green hands on his chest in contemplation. The two lounged on a cozy blanket, exploring some of the world’s most vexing quandaries: Why are we here? Is it better to give than to receive? Does anyone truly have free will?
The latter question, along with a couple others, seemed to stir up an uncomfortable truth for Kermit. Kermit eventually asked Colbert, “Do you ever feel like we’re being watched?” “I certainly hope so,” Colbert said with a grin.
