Who says artists are precious about their work? If his just-premiered Super Bowl commercial for T-Mobile is any indication, Drake loves outside input. The short spot has Drake shooting his now meme-ified video for the ubiquitous-in-2015 “Hotline Bling” when shouts of “Cut!” rudely interrupt his flow. No matter—he doesn’t seem bothered.
A trio of persnickety executives with a bit more than music on their minds then start in with their suggestions: “When you say, ‘Call me on my cell phone,’ just add ‘device eligible for upgrade after 24 months,’” says one. “You know what? Also, you need to include that streaming music will incur data charges,” chimes another. To which the artist responds: “Fantastic idea! These changes don’t ruin the song at all!”
