It’s been more than 20 years since we first met Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne, the two dim-witted stars of hit comedy Dumb and Dumber. The time is ripe, then, for a little cinematic revisionism, and this spoof trailer by Mashable, which reimagines the film as an Oscar-winning drama, is a worthy parody.
That’s mostly because the movie plays surprisingly well as a tearjerker: There are certainly enough histrionics involved, and it’s good fun to see Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniel’s mindless slapstick transmuted into inspirational storytelling.
