Watch David Bowie’s Hometown of Brixton Gather for Mass Sing-Alongs of His Greatest Hits

In the hours following David Bowie’s death, fans flocked to Brixton—the south London district where the singer was born David Robert Jones in 1947—to pay tribute to the late icon. 

Most of these tributes involved placing flowers and other mementos beside the town’s mural of Bowie, but after the sun set a more vocal celebration began, with hundreds of fans bellowing Bowie’s greatest hits: “Starman,” “Life on Mars,” “Let’s Dance.”  Some footage of the impromptu sing-along:
