David Bowie’s Creepy Music Video for “Lazarus” Will Haunt Your Nightmares

First he gave us the the deeply unsettling 10-minute “Blackstar” video, and today David Bowie delivered an equally creepy video for “Lazarus,” the second song to be released from his upcoming LP Blackstar.

In “Lazarus,” Bowie is bedridden in an institutional hospital setting that would look perfectly at home in Guillermo del Toro’s nightmares. He’s also sporting the same Coraline-like button eyes over facial bandages from the last video, and apparently has a monster living under his bed who looks a lot like something out of The Grudge. To top it all off, there’s also another David Bowie, one clad in all-black, who does some weird hip-swinging dance moves before frantically scribbling something with a fountain pen—probably a desperate plea to anyone who can tell him what’s going on. The album comes out Friday.
