In this time of fraught, app-mediated matchmaking, SNL’s new game show, “Meet Your Second Wife,” supplies a no-nonsense alternative. Hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the show rejects bromides like “true love” and “commitment,” instead pairing married men with the future brides for whom they will inevitably leave their families.
The catch: said brides are currently very, very young. That twist makes for one of SNL’s very best sketches this season, one that combines comedy, commentary, and shock tactics to striking effect.
