Violence is the most obvious through line in Quentin Tarantino’s work. His movies have lots of blood, guts, and gore; deaths come as thick and heavy as the dialogue. All that killing can become a bit of a blur, but one brave soul, video essayist Kevin B. Lee, has finally slogged through the carnage to produce a scientific accounting of every single casualty in the director’s oeuvre.
I won’t spoil the final number, but suffice to say The Hateful Eight should add a few dozen bodies to the count.
